Brief History

MSSN, Oshodi Area Council, one of the giant Councils in the unit (Lagos State Area Unit), was created on the 15th Dhul Qaddah, 1413A.H (April, 1993). For the first eight months, the administration of the council was in the hand of a caretaker committee headed by Brother Abdur Razak Yusuf Ajayi. After it met all set standards, the council was accredited as a recognised Area Council by the Unit. The first annual conference of the council was held on the 19th of Shaban 1414 A.H. (30th January, 1994) At the conference, the caretaker committee was dissolved and a cabinet was instituted by the Shurah. It was a 16-man cabinet under the leadership of Brother Abdur Razak Yusuf Ajayi, Sulayman Dhikrullah and Sister Fadhillah Rabiu Olawale as the 1st Amir, Secretary and Amirah respectively. The first pronounced executive programme of the cabinet was the celebration of the first anniversary and official launching of the council. It was a three –day celebration held between the 13th and 15th Dhul Qaddah 1414 A.H (22nd and 24th April 1994). The Official launching of the council was performed by Brother Sulayman Adenle, (Director of studies), a Rep. of the Lagos State Area Unit at that time. Another Glorious history of the council was that it was the first Area council to introduce and organise PRE-SSCE for members, who were preparing for Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1999.
